About this blog title

I cannot tell you how many times I have shown up at events with a couple of cameras around my neck, a gadget bag full of odds & ends and a lighting kit and have been asked that question. If it happened once every few years, that would be one thing. But it happens a LOT. It's like getting pulled over by the police and he's standing there with uniform, gun, flashing lights and asking him "Are you a cop?" I would love to come back with a witty reply, such as "No, I am Jesus. Don't you recognize my beard?" However, I cannot be that rude.

A Long Drive: Carthage Hospital, Lloyd's of Lowville, Apple Store

Bread & pastries from Mill House Market and a coffee mug from Lloyd's of Lowville.

We put the Better Half through an endurance test Thursday, March 23.  We started the day by leaving the house at 8:45AM to take her to Carthage Hospital for a cat scan. She has been concerned about shortness of breath ever since the blood clots in her lungs as well as lingering effects of Covid. From there we drove 25miles to Lowville just to have breakfast at Lloyd's Lowville, a classic old diner dating back to 1939.

This was the longest excursion we have taken since the BH broke her femur back in December. after breakfast she was somewhat uncomfortable but thought we should try to go to the Apple Store t Pyramid Mall, Syracuse.  I wanted to have them put a new battery in my iPhone 6s. So we did the. Took them about an hour and charged me $69.00, so that was pretty good. Put new life into my old phone.

Then we took a leisurely drive back home on US Rt 11. In Pulaski we stopped at Mill House Market where we bought some bread and a couple pastries. We got home about 3:30. That was a long day of sitting I the car. The Better Half was rather lame and sore afterwards . That evening both of her legs were achy as well as her butt from sitting so long.

Snow banks in April

It is April 2nd and we have a paltry 42 degrees temperature out doors. We had more fuel oil delivered yesterday at $4.19 a gallon. Unbelievable! I snapped the photo shown here in Pulaski, NY just at the RT81 off ramp at Byrne Dairy.

Third Day of Spring Time In Northern New York

By the calendar it is almost Spring here in Northern NY.  Most of the snow has melted, but it was a mere 14 degrees at my home in Chaumont this morning. I snapped the picture presented here this afternoon in Pulaski, NY. As the snow melts the dirt hidden with it becomes apparent. I do hope all is well in your world.

Photo of Snow Plow in Pulaski, N.Y.

I snapped this photo of a snow plow from the window of my car while parked on the side of the street. This is Port St. in the village of Pulaski, N.Y.
We are well into the thick of Winter here in Northern NY. For the past week temperatures have been below zero to single digits above zero. However, yesterday it began to warm some. This evening there is a bit of freezing rain. Freezing rain can be one of the most trecherous of weather conditions.
