Today we had the first real lake effect snow for this Winter season in Watertown, NY. A good 12 inches fell and continued to fall as I cleared & dug out my daughters car. I was in town working on a couple of my apartments and as she works nights, she was going to wake up to the snow and need to deal with it before going in. It was great exercise, temperature was mild and little wind, so I actually enjoyed it. The other shots are of grandson JS Clay St, as wells a couple of shots snapped from a vacant apartment on Clay St.

PHOTO: Trees on a November Night

Trees on a November Night  photo was taken in the backyard of our house in Chaumont, NY, The light coming through the trees is from the athletic field at Lyme Central School. Photo was taken with a Sony a6000 camera and a Sony 18-105mm f4 zoom lens. I used a black & white mode camera setting.

Today is January 5, 2022. I got up later than I like to this morning. I had to put the trash & recyclables out on the curb for pick up this morning. Usually do that by 8:00. Today it was 8:30.

For breakfast I had a bowl of beans, tomatoes & ham. Spent a couple hours at our Clay St apartment house doing some window work on a vacant unit. Came home had a light dinner and watched a couple episodes of  The Rise & Fall of Reginald Perrin on YouTube. This is a 1970's era British sitcom. I watched on our local PBS tv station many years ago. Fun to revisit it.

I snapped this photo of a dog tucked into bed on the 2nd day of the new year 2022. The Better Half & I  spent the evening at Heather & Dave's house to welcome in the the new year as well as check out their Christmas tree. As everyone is busy and having conflicting schedules it was our first chance this holiday season to such. We had a few beers, some delicious finger foods and a great dinner of goulash and meatballs. Before we left grand son Jake tucked the dog Bella cozily under a blanket with a pillow. I couldn't resist snapping a photo of her. Bella is quite old and has some health issues and it is anyone's guess how much longer she will be with us.

Clayton NY Christmas Parade December 4, 2021 Gary Walts Photos

Here are some photos I snapped at the annual Christmas Parade in Clayton, N.Y.  This years parade was shorter than usual. It also moved along pretty good. There was a brisk wind coming off the St. Lawrence River, but the temperature was mild enough I was able to take pictures without gloves.

I look out the window this morning and see a raccoon getting into our birdfeeder at our home in Chaumont, NY. It was a rainy and dark morning, 7:30 when I snapped these photos. I took them with a Sony a6000 camera and a Minolta 200mm f2.8 auto focus lens.

Catbird Photo Taken with Sony a6600 Camera & Minolta 500mm f8 auto focus lens

I snapped this Catbird in the garden at our home in Chaumont, NY. This is the first one I've seen a 2 or 3 years. I used a Sony a6600 camera with a Minolta 500mm f8 mirror autofocus lens. It was attached to the camera with the Sony La-EA5 adapter. What a great combination of equipment. The camera was handheld. Amazing sharpness, in a big part due to the 5 way image stabilization of the Sony a6600.
