About this blog title

I cannot tell you how many times I have shown up at events with a couple of cameras around my neck, a gadget bag full of odds & ends and a lighting kit and have been asked that question. If it happened once every few years, that would be one thing. But it happens a LOT. It's like getting pulled over by the police and he's standing there with uniform, gun, flashing lights and asking him "Are you a cop?" I would love to come back with a witty reply, such as "No, I am Jesus. Don't you recognize my beard?" However, I cannot be that rude.

New Faucet & Lunch at Longway's Diner

New Delta faucet installed in the slop sink in our back shed. $58.32 from Amazon

Yesterday (Sunday March 12, 2023) I replaced the faucet on what we call a "slop sink" located in our back shed. These sinks are also referred to as laundry sinks or utility sinks.  Anyhow, back in February when the temp went to minus 20 below zero the faucet froze up. Upon thawing the cold water valve was leaking. I ordered a new one through Amazon. It cost $58.32. I ordered it after first looking for similar one at our local hardware stores, Lowes & Home Depot. What I got was a Delta brand. The original was a Peerless. Both are identical. Installation was a breeze, especially having done it before.

New Delta faucet, left, and old Peerless. Identical.

After that we took a drive to Cape Vincent to check out the lake & river. Then to Depauville and finally Watertown where we decided to have a late lunch at Longway's Diner. I had a double cheeseburger and home fries. The Better Half had a beef bar b q with French fries. Bill came to $32.00 and change.  This outting was significant because it's the first time the BH has gone into a public place (other than Doctors office/hospital) since she broker her leg back on December 22, 2023. AND, she entered without using a walker or cane

I Drive Over Some Beer Bottles June 7, 2022

I drive over some beer bottles. Yikes.

I was moving a chair with 2011 Kia Sedona van. I had to take these beer bottles out before the chair. By the time I finished with the chair I had forgotten about the bottles. I back up and hear a wild cunching sound. . The Bottles!  Oh you dumb ass I say to myself.

Beer bottles crushed by my 2011 Kia Sedona van. What a dumb ass I say to myself.

Other than that it rained quite a bit for most of the day here in Chaumont, NY. This morning I mowed the lawn at our rental house on Clay St., Watertown.
