I cannot tell you how many times I have shown up at events with a couple of cameras around my neck, a gadget bag full of odds & ends and a lighting kit and have been asked that question. If it happened once every few years, that would be one thing. But it happens a LOT. It's like getting pulled over by the police and he's standing there with uniform, gun, flashing lights and asking him "Are you a cop?" I would love to come back with a witty reply, such as "No, I am Jesus. Don't you recognize my beard?" However, I cannot be that rude.

PHOTOS: Smoked Pork Ribs, Scanning B n W Negatives

Not a pretty time of year here, but great for grilling n smoking.

Sunday March 15, 2026. I awoke at 4:00am, laid in bed 45 minutes then decided to read for a bit. Reading very often will put me back to sleep. This morning it didn't. FYI I am reading the journals of Lewis and Clark's expedition through the Louisiana Purchase. It's a free download at Project Gutenburg. 

So I got up at 6:00. The day started out windy, grey and cold, 22 degrees when I got up. I scanned some more negatives for upcoming photo exhibition. By the afternoon the sun was out and temp had risen to 49 degrees. Perfect for being outdoors and smoking some St Louis style pork ribs.  The ribs came out great after about 4 1/2 hours in the smoker.
